John Ernest

General Superintendent

John Ernest carries with him more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry. The vast majority of his time has been in a supervisory role. His leadership spans across a wide variety of project types and scopes. Mr. Ernest’s exceptional communication skills facilitates a positive and open dialog with both union and non-union management.

In addition to his technical construction capabilities, inclusive of complex excavation and foundation work, Mr. Ernest has extensive experience in union labor negotiations, subcontractor selections, project start up, and logistical planning. His knowledge in the fields of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work allow him to mitigate problems effectively through troubleshooting and coordination of various infrastructure components.

As a member of Sordoni’s executive team Mr. Ernest assists with the development and implementation of corporate policies. As one of the two company General Superintendents, Mr. Ernest tailors the field staff to ensure that all our clients receive the right personnel, and that field teams exceed expectations.

Mr. Ernest holds OSHA 10- and 40-hour training certifications along with course completions in Crane Safety & Procedures and Rigging Safety & Procedures. He is a Licensed New York City Superintendent.
