Sordoni repositioned and rejuvenated the Essex Green Shopping Center located in West Orange, New Jersey. The team repositioned 300,000 sf of retail space inclusive of multiple tenants across 2 floors of mall space. Scope of work consisted of facade renovations, interior demolition and re-demise spaces, utility infrastructure rebuild, and structural improvements to the existing floor structure.
Project scope included a site development plan to accommodate the repositioning effort consisting of new storm drainage, paving, and walkways. The result created a walkable space between all buildings. Existing walkways and plaza were renovated to create an outdoor space that fits with the newly renovated center.
This work was in support of bringing in new tenants for a 27,000 sf Burlington build-out, free-standing Starbucks, and landlord improvements for a 5 Guys, Primo Hoagies, and more. In addition, flatwork, curbs, and sidewalks were also revitalized. The Installation of freight elevators and upgrades on existing electrical infrastructure of at least half the strip mall also took place.
