Sordoni Construction Co. was selected by Novartis to build its East Hanover Campus’ Visitor’s Center. The facility, designed by Weiss Manfredi, serves as the campus’ Welcome Center and Security Station.
The project achieved LEED gold certification and was managed through multiple phases of construction – all performed within the fully occupied campus without interruption to employees or visitors. Initially scheduled to be an 8-phase project, it increased into a 12+ phase project. Almost $3 million worth of additional construction was added without affecting Sordoni’s general conditions, while still maintaining the original schedule.
Sordoni personnel assumed the role of procurement and site utility development, along with becoming liaisons between Novartis, county representatives, utility companies, local police, fire department, and the NJDOT Regional Office.
