Sordoni Construction Co. managed the renovations and construction on the Plaza at Woodbridge Mall located in Islin, New Jersey. This project was separated into two phases.
Phase I included the addition of a new 600A electrical service for Bed Bath & Beyond and upgrades to the fire pump assembly to 1500 GMP. Modifications took place at the back-of-house receiving area where the old configuration was demolished, and two new overhead doors with dock levelers were added. The walls were also demolished to split tenant spaces at this area. Modifications to the loading dock area took place to accommodate larger trucks by adding a new loading dock ramp, drainage, and lighting.
A complete demolition of the old Toys R’ Us façade was roughly 280 ft wide, including the vestibule. Installations of new structural elements for two new vestibules occurred, along with footings and foundation walls, steel structure, roofing, and parapets installations. Complete finishes of the exterior such as EIFS, thin brick, Nichiha Panels, Trespa Panels, Parapet Coping, Stanley Sliding Doors, and storefront system were installed. In addition, mill and overlay occurred on the front-of-house parking lot with new signage and striping to accommodate new tenants’ requirements.
Phase II consisted of facade restoration at Raymour and Flanigan, Harmon Beauty Supply, and Best Buy. Sitework improvements included new sidewalks, curb, irrigation, landscaping, and site lighting. Work also includes a complete paved overlay with new signage and striping.
