In addition to The Grand residential building, Sordoni Construction Co. managed the build-up of a parking garage to serve The Grand and community due to concerns over the lack of public parking spaces. Completed in April 2023, it contains 506 spaces for residents and the public while having close proximity to public transportation in West New York, New Jersey.
Regarding construction, over 9,700 tons of rock were drilled, blasted, and removed from the site. The depth of rock removal on average was 12–14-foot cuts, with a deeper section at the garage’s storm detention basin. As construction continued, two 8-story curtain walls were installed along with aluminum sunscreens providing a modern architectural element at the entry point. The entire garage was striped throughout, received concrete sealer on drivable surfaces, and contains six electric vehicle charging stations.
