Sordoni was selected as Construction Manager to upgrade all of the existing amenities at Liberty Towers in Jersey City. The residents of the 648 rental units now enjoy a brand new rooftop amenity level with a pool, Ipe sun deck, cabanas, fire pits, and barbecue stations. Interior renovations included a new screening room, party room, lounge, chef’s kitchen, game room, library, golf simulator, and fitness center. In addition, the front entrance and main drive received a new glass vestibule, plantings, stone portal facade, and repaired and resurfaced concrete flatwork. These new finishes spill into the lobby with new stone flooring, wall finishes and ceilings. Each corridor within the two 37 story buildings was also upgraded with new carpet, wall coverings, and light fixtures. All work was completed while maintaining safe access for residents.
Energy upgrades including low flow fixtures, energy efficient lighting and mechanical systems, and sealing of existing duct risers were implemented. The project is targeting LEED silver certification.
In addition to providing CM services during construction, Sordoni provided extensive Value Engineering input and design assistance in order for the project to meet its budget constraints.
